Adventurous Ski Elopement in the North Cascades

After years together climbing, skiing, biking, hiking and doing seemingly every other type of outdoor sport there is together, Melissa & Paul decided a backcountry ski in the North Cascades would be the perfect way to commemorate their love story and marriage.

We woke up before the sun and met at their A-frame cabin and soon headed for the mountains with their closest people. As the sun was just beginning to rise over Shuksan the whole sky turned pink and the two shared their first look before our ascent towards their ceremony spot. Skiing & snowshoeing our way to the top, they shared their vows with one another while Melissa’s brother officiated the ceremony. To celebrate, their guests set up a charcouter-ski on Melissa’s split board, shared toasts and popped some champagne. This day was filled with lots of laughter, happy tears, and some fun skiing + glissading down the mountain, and I can confidently say I will happily accept all skiing elopements in the future.

The North Cascades is an incredibly breathtaking and remarkable place to elope with your loved one. With its conifer-clad mountains, glaciers, lakes, trails, and viewpoints it provides countless beautiful spots for your elopement and certainly makes your final film one to remember. Less than three hours from Seattle, this National Park is both easy to access and has so much to offer. I have filmed a number of elopements in the North Cascades, each unique and gorgeous in their own way, and let me tell you it is always a meaningful and memorable experience with my couples on their special day.
